3-Filter-Antenna Design For Wireless Communication System

FILTER-ANTENNA DESIGN FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Filter antennas address certain key issues in communication systems such as reduced cost and size of system as well as losses in the RF front end. However, implementing filter antennas has come with its challenges and limitations. Among this challenges are reduction in peak in-band gain, presence of ripples and not so sharp skirt selectivity.

Currently filter-antennas are designed mostly at fixed frequency which does not depict the reality of modern communication systems. Modern communication system trend is towards designing multifunctional devices which operate at various frequencies in order to save cost, reduce size and obtain better performance.

Hence this research shall extend filter-antennas currently designed mostly at fixed frequency into making them reconfigurable to suit modern devices.
