Abstract:

This paper presents the design of a compact super wideband (SWB) antenna. The basic structure of the antenna is the slotted elliptical shape and partial ground proposed to achieve SWB property. The antenna is designed on the FR4 substrate material with a compact size of 20 ×20 mm 2 . The simulation results demonstrate that the reflection coefficient is less than −10 dB in the range of 3.6 GHz to 36.5 GHz. Furthermore, this design offers a dual-beam radiation pattern in the xy-plane and a peak gain of 6 dB. Then, the two-port SWB MIMO antennas are implemented, in which the two antennas are arranged orthogonally for obtaining high isolation in the whole operating band. The simulation result demonstrates that the isolation is better than 16 dB. The performance of MIMO antennas is studied in terms of the Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC), Diversity Gain (DG), and Total Active Reflection Coefficient (TARC), where all the parameters have values within the appropriate range. The proposed antenna can be used for UWB, Ku, K, Ka-band communication systems.
