1-Comprehensive IOT Based Security Solutions for Guard Patrol and Access System
Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology where all the devices, appliances, sensors, vehicles and wireless enabled systems can be controlled by finger tips or remotely due to their connectivity to the internet. It is a network of physical objects that can interact with each other to share information and make a decision. Many traditional devices which have evolved to become IoT based devices can collect and transmit data as well as enabling control via smartphones because of the network connectivity. In line with UTM Digital Campus initiatives, the proposed project embodies the Industrial 4.0 application in security patrol and access (barrier) solutions utilizing IoT, cloud computing and data mining technologies. The proposed system consists of Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identifier (RFID) devices, a cloud platform that enables the authorized personnel to access to a database and server from the web-based software and gateway device, a Graphical User Interface (GUI) application software for interactive environment and TelG wireless sensor mote. The real-time data delivery utilizing IoT communication protocols as well as IoT cloud services for automatic data updates and analysis can provide operational insights into the patrolling activities and access issues that ultimately would streamline a more efficient solution by providing crucial information such as tracking and reporting data that can assist organizations in decision making related to their security patrol and access policy.
