UTM-TRG 3.4 : IOT NETWORK FOR ENHANCING ENERGY SAVING AWARENESS IN UTM

The electricity bill to operate UTM is extremely high (±RM20M annually). One of the major factors are the users themselves. Energy audits have been done throughout UTM; however, the results have not been disseminated efficiently creating a scenario where the users are unaware of how much energy they are consuming, and wasting sometimes, everyday. Furthermore, without any kind of monitoring system, it is very hard for the facility manager to keep track the time and location of the energy usage. Thus, based on our expertise, we propose to develop and deploy an energy consumption monitoring system that can be installed on each floor of the building and the information will be automatically uploaded to the web server and disseminated via dashboard displays on each floor and on the website.
